Concept Map

While completing the Concept Mapping assignment, I learned how to successfully create and use a concept map. Venn diagrams can also be created in Kidspiration. I did not encounter any issues in creating the concept map and that means it can be easy to use for students as well.

Concept maps can be used to create a character analysis, a story line, and also a sequence of events. For this assignment, I made a concept map character analysis of the characters in the book Animal Farm by George Orwell.

Concept mapping ties to the NETS-T standard one which is to facilitate and inspire student learning and creativity. Teachers use their knowledge of subject matter, teaching and learning, and technology to facilitate experiences that advance student learning, creativity, and innovation in both face-to-face and virtual environments. Promote student reflection using collaborative tools to reveal and clarify students’ conceptual understanding and thinking, planning, and creative processes. To model collaborative knowledge construction by engaging in learning with students, colleagues, and others in face-to-face and virtual environments. Concept mapping promotes the use of collaborative tools to reveal and clarify the student’s thinking, planning, and creative process.
